About Sew Love Patterns

Welcome to Sew Love Patterns. I’m Johanna the designer and pattern cutter behind Sew Love Patterns.

I am a pattern cutter from London, specialising in womenswear. After graduating with a degree in Fashion Design, I went to work at a fast paced sampling house, cutting patterns for high-end designers and getting the knowledge and understanding of every stage in the production process. I then set up my own pattern cutting studio in East London creating patterns for emerging designers and small brands, as well as bespoke garments and bridal wear.

I started designing my own sewing patterns after taking a sabbatical to travel and meditate around the world. This led to me slowing down and looking for a way to work more sustainably and creatively.

My sewing pattern brand, Sew Love Patterns is collection of feminine garments that fit the moment, but also have enduring appeal. I love wedding dresses and jumpsuits, so both feature in my designs and I have plans for more! The fabrics I use are all ethically sourced and I have a list of fabric suppliers on my website to help others on the journey to become more sustainable.

I love pattern cutting and I’m so happy to share my love of patterns with you. Sewing your own clothes is a beautiful way to explore your creativity and learn new skills and best of all you get a wardrobe to treasure and enjoy!
